Gorge Walking is a superb group adventure activity to do and such a good laugh.

Gorge walking in Cumbria with Endless Adventures

As a group of mates we are always up for something a bit adventurous and we wanted to try out Gorge Walking. After a bit of searching online we came across Endless Adventures who offer all sorts of outdoor activities and we liked the sound of their guided Gorge Walking package which they carried out near Alston in Cumbria, in the gorge that flows from Ashgill Force. So we made the 1.5 hour drive one Saturday morning and arrived not knowing what to expect other than to get a bit wet and jump into a few plunge pools. We ended up having a brilliant time and god laugh in the 3 hours or so moving up the gorge, sometimes scrambling up waterfalls and sometimes jumping in the gorge from progressively higher places 🙂 Our instructor for the day Mark and he was absolutely spot on, and we’d definitely recommend Endless Adventures if your looking for adventure activities in the
North-East and Cumbria.
Here we are at the end of the session under Ashgill Force after having a superb morning playing around in the gorge.
With this organised Gorge Walk we are eased in slowly by walking through it as first and it’s a stunning setting, almost has a tropical feel to it
We get challenged a bit more as the morning goes on and scramble up waterfalls
We do quite a few jumps into the deep plunge pools and each time the jump gets a little higher 🙂
Natures own slide 😉
At this jump we actually jump off a tree which grows out horizontally from the surrounding rock. Wouldn’t haven’t known it was possible until we where taken there!
We finish the day back at Ashgill Force and we’ve had a quality few hours splashing about 🙂

So there you go – a few photos of our Gorge Walk and such a good morning. If you want to do a bit of Gorge Walking in the North-east or Cumbria near the Lake District then I highly recommend Endless Adventures – Find out more here:  www.endlessadventurenortheast.com

More people enjoying the outdoors is great - but a small minority are leaving rubbish behind. No one gets paid to clean up natural beauty spots, (I know I'm mainly preaching to the converted) but please take all your litter home and also don’t scorch the earth with fires & BBQs which takes years to recover. You'll be an absolute outdoors legend if you pick up & dispose of any rubbish you do see from others. Finally, when sharing your pics online, please also consider encouraging responsible & sustainable enjoyment of the outdoors too. We're all influencers to some extent!
