Linhope Spout waterfall walk in Northumberland
Linhope Spout is a popular waterfall walk in the Ingram Valley in Northumberland that is a perfect walk for families of all ages. Linhope Spout itself is a great little picnic spot and a good place for a bit of wild swimming too if you are into that sort of thing. We completed this walk in a big family group. the eldest was 72 and we also had 3 kids with us, the youngest being 4 and it was no problem for them.

Once you park along the roadside just before you get to Hartside – you walk along the private road from Hartside to Linhope Village. |
The small little village of Linhope, note you cannot drive here, you have to leave the car at Hartside. |
The path is clearly marked from Linhope Village to Linhope Spout and is generally easy going |
Just follow the well defined path and the signs and you can’t go wrong! |
Linhope Spout is in amongst the tree’s and the path will take you straight to it! |
What a cracking little waterfall it is. There is plenty of grassy space around it to have a picnic too. |

Linhope Spout is a popular spot for wild swimming.! It’s 5m deep and lot’s of people come here on warm sunny days to swim around and even jump into the plunge pool as you can see from the youtube video below! |
