| Gordale Scar is one of the most imposing places in Yorkshire and the waterfalls here are very dramatic. A walking route actually goes right up these falls which can be scrambled up if the water is not too heavy! Find out more on the location of Gordale Scar on this Malham Cove walk here |
#5. Cauldron falls in West Burton, near Aysgarth in the Yorkshire Dales
Cauldron Falls in the village of West Burton is one of my favourite waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales and is relatively easy to get to. You can park the car in West Burton village and walk to this spot in a few mins. It’s perfect for a swim too!
#6. Richmond Waterfalls on the River Swale
#7. Scaleber Force, near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales
#8. Cotter Force, near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales
#9. Cow Close Gill Falls in Upper Wharfdale
#10. Thornton Force, on the Ingleton Waterfall Trail
Last but not least on this list, is Thornton Force – a pretty well known large waterfall near Ingleton in North Western Yorkshire that is perfect for swimming in – and many do. The waterfall is part of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail – and if your a lover of waterfalls (and I guess you are after reading this post) then I highly recommend the 3.5 mile Ingleton Waterfall Trail where you will see some truly stunning cascading falls.

More people enjoying the outdoors is great - but a small minority are leaving rubbish behind. No one gets paid to clean up natural beauty spots, (I know I'm mainly preaching to the converted) but please take all your litter home and also don’t scorch the earth with fires & BBQs which takes years to recover. You'll be an absolute outdoors legend if you pick up & dispose of any rubbish you do see from others. Finally, when sharing your pics online, please also consider encouraging responsible & sustainable enjoyment of the outdoors too. We're all influencers to some extent! COMMENTS SECTIONI’m always interested to know if people find my stuff useful to plan a walk, or if you have any further tips to help others (some of these write uyps are old now) – so any feedback is welcome, just leave a commnet below and I’ll get back to you… LATEST ON INSTAGRAMI don't have annoying ads all over the website to keep it user friendly - refreshing eh!
